Shiba Inu Gets Listed on Robinhood
Robinhood, the popular commission-free trading app, announced their listing of Shiba Inu this Tuesday. The announcement coincided with the SHIBA Army announcing a total burn of 258 Million SHIB. Upon the news, over $1 billion flowed in the meme token’s market cap, causing the price of SHIB to shoot up by 30% in under an hour. Robinhood also listed Solana, Polygon and Compound, which boosted the prices during the bearish market.
Floyd Mayweather Launches the Mayweverse
Floyd Mayweather, former US boxing champion, is launching the Meyweverse on Wednesday, 13 April. This is not his first rodeo in crypto. Mayweather’s previous NFT projects include Floyd’s World NFTs and the promotion of Bored Bunny NFT. Both projects failed dismally losing investors millions of dollars. Infamous for shilling bad crypto projects, Floyd was sued by the SEC, for promoting Centra Tech, a cryptocurrency scam, during the ICO boom in 2017.
Kucoin Research Reports a Third of Nigerians Own Cryptocurrency
KuCoin, a Singaporean cryptocurrency exchange, released the ‘Into the Cryptoverse’ Report research finding on cryptocurrency adoption in Nigeria. According to the report, 35% or 33.4 million Nigerians owned, or traded crypto in the past 6 months. The adoption spike was mainly fueled by the 2021 bull run, as well as the Nigerian Naira falling by 209% in value. The report also found peer-to-peer trading as the most popular way for Nigerians to acquire cryptocurrency.
