Coinbase Featured in Fortune 500 Companies
Coinbase, a U.S. cryptocurrency exchange, made it to the 2022 Fortune 500 list, an annual list of America’s largest organizations by revenue. The cryptocurrency exchange ranks at no.437, with a $7.8 billion revenue, in 2021. The revenue threshold for this year was $6.4 billion.
Coinbase is the first cryptocurrency company to make it to Fortune Magazine’s most coveted list. The company makes most of its revenue from trading fees.
Walmart, America’s largest retail corporation, took the first spot with a revenue of $572 billion.
Amazon, America’s multinational e-commerce company, took the second spot with annual revenue of $469 billion. Apple, America’s multinational consumer electronics and technology company, came in third place with annual revenue of $365 billion.
Magic Johnson Reveals New NFT Collection
Magic Johnson, the legendary NBA star, revealed his new NFT collection on Twitter. “I’m excited to partner with @nbatopshot to release my first NFTs and bring some of my favorite moments from my career to fans everywhere. Fans get to see just a few of my favorite plays from my career!” he wrote in a tweet.
The NFT collection is called “The anthology: Magic Johnson” and will have 1600 anthologies packs, priced at $399 each. The collection will be released on June 7 and available for purchases on Top Shot, an NBA NFT marketplace built on the Flow blockchain.
Brazilians Can Buy Property With Bitcoin
Brazilian real estate developer, Gafisa, announced that it will accept Bitcoin as a means of payment for apartment properties.
“There is no way to do business without accepting crypto as a form of payment, because in addition to representing another way that the buyer can choose to make the payment – focus on Customer Experience – the use of currency promotes the best for our consumers,” said Guilherme Augusto Soares Benevides, the CEO of Gafisa.
The Brazilian Central Bank does not recognize cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. Guilherme Augusto Soares Benevides, the CEO of Gafisa, believes that Bitcoin is the largest cryptocurrency in the market and that its popularity is growing every day.
