Epic Games Launches NFT Game

Epic Games, a U.S based video and computer games company, is launching its first play-to-earn NFT game called Grit. Famous for the success of Fortnite, Epic Games is partnering up with Gala Games, a web3 gaming platform, to bring Grit to their Epic Game Store. 

“Epic is a pioneer and visionary in the video game industry. Gala Games’ titles being available on the Epic Game Store brings legitimacy to this new genre of gaming,” said John Osvald, President of Games at Gala Games. 

The Epic Games Store has over 194 million users. Gala aims to bring easy access to gamers who have not yet experienced the enriching effects of NFT gaming. 

Grit is a cowboy battle royal-themed game powered by Unreal Engines to create realistic 3D features. Players must ride into the wild west and fight against gangs of gunslingers and deadly showdowns. 

  

English Premier League Registers NFT Trademarks

The English Premier League (EPL), one of the worlds most-watched football leagues, has filed for two NFT patents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The applications cover the lion head logo and the EPL Championship Cup.

 “The Premier League is regularly watched by more than a billion people, so the value attached to the brand is substantial,” tweeted Michael Kondoudis, a licensed Trademark Attorney.

The trademark filings were submitted on the 1st of June and met all the applicable standards. According to Kondoudis, the trademark filings are a necessary step to protecting the brand in today’s virtual economy.

Bitstamp Lists Shiba Inu

Bitstamp, one of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges, announced that it finally listed Shiba Inu, the ‘Dogecoin Killer’ meme cryptocurrency, on Monday. The decision to list Shiba Inu was initially made in December 2021. However, the listing got delayed due to technical issues. 

Shiba Inu holders, also known as Shibarmy, can now transfer and trade SHIB tokens on the Bitstamp exchange. This is a huge feat for Shiba Inu, as Bitstamp is one of the most trusted exchanges in Europe. It operates in more than 100 countries and boasts 4 million users.
