Solana Launches Mobile Device
Solana, a fast decentralized blockchain, is launching a mobile platform called Solana Mobile Stack (SMS). In addition, Solana will launch a smartphone device for Web3 called Saga. Saga is an Android device and will be the first Web3-centric smartphone to hit the market in 2023.
The SMS platform will provide Android tools to build apps and games. It will also include a decentralized app store.
“What does it look like with 1 billion people using [crypto]? What do you imagine? It’s in this device—the device you use every day,” said Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder and CEO of Salana Labs.
Solana partners with OSOM, a hardware developing company, to bring the Saga smartphone to life. “It’s a pretty freakin’ cool device,” Yakovenko said. The Saga smartphone has a sleek iPhone-like design, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 6.67 inch OLED display, 12GB RAM, and 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone is due to launch in early 2023. The device will cost about $1000.
GTA6 Rumors To Introduce Cryptocurrency
Recent leaks about Grand Theft Auto 6, a popular crime-adventure game, suggest that the game will introduce cryptocurrency on its release. Rockstar Games, the video games publisher behind GTA, introduced stock trading in GTA5. It seems a natural step to include cryptocurrency trading in their next release. The game is still in development, and the release dates are unconfirmed.
Rockstar announced that the game development started in February 2022. “Many of you have been asking about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we’ve previously delivered. We’re pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the series is underway,” wrote Rockstar Games in a tweet.
Other rumors include GTA introducing their first female protagonist. In addition, intercontinental travels in different timelines are another rumor to have surfaced.
Harmony Offers $1M Bounty For $100M Bridge Exploit
Harmony, an open and fast blockchain, announced a $1 million bounty for the return of stolen Horizon Bridge funds. A hacker stole $100 million by exploiting the Harmony Horizon Bridge, a crypto ramp that allows users to transfer crypto from one blockchain to another.
“We commit to a $1M bounty for the return of Horizon bridge funds and sharing exploit information. Harmony will advocate for no criminal charges when funds are returned,” wrote Harmony in a tweet.
