Bill Gates Criticizes NFTs
Bill Gates, the Microsoft founder, criticized NFTs during a TechCrunch interview about climate change. The philanthropist said digital assets were 100% based on the Greater Fool Theory. The Greater Fool Theory states that an asset will go up because you can always sell them at a higher price to a greater fool.
During the interview, Gates singled out the Bored Ape Yacht Club. “Obviously expensive digital images of monkeys are going to improve the world immensely,” he said sarcastically. He also added that he is not long or short on any cryptocurrency project.
The tech entrepreneur said that he believes in farms because they have an output and companies that produce products. He also disparaged the act of anonymity, which is prevalent in the cryptocurrency and NFT community.
Nansen Launches Messaging App
Nansen, a blockchain analytics platform, is launching a Web3 messaging application called Nansen Connect. The messaging app is designed for NFT and cryptocurrency communities and requires a crypto wallet address to operate. The company has described the messaging app as a “crypto-native communication hub.”
Discord is currently the leading web3 messaging app for NFT communities. However, it has been exploited by several hacks lately. Nansen Connect aims to take some of Discord’s audience.
“Nansen is already a key informational hub for the crypto world, and our core offering—wallet labeling for 120 million Ethereum addresses alone—centers on surfacing the identities and behaviors in the noise of blockchain data. Creating a social product is a natural evolution for these core competencies,” said Paul Harwood, the Product Manager of Nansen Connect.

Tag Heuer Launches NFT Feature
Tag Heuer, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, has partnered with Ledger to launch an NFT feature for one of its watches. The Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E4 smartwatch will connect to Metamask so users can display their NFTs.
“I have had a deep interest in the NFT space, and this feature fits with TAG Heuer’s tradition of being avant-garde and innovative in technology,” said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer.
Tag Heuer was one of the first companies to start producing smartwatches in 2015. This year the brand started accepting cryptocurrencies for payment.
