Bored Apes Take on Hollywood
If you’re part of the BAYC community, you’re not only rich by now, but your NFT may become famous. Coinbase Entertainment is producing The Degen Trilogy, a three-part film series featuring the Bored Apes NFT characters. BAYC NFT holders are encouraged to submit their NFTs with their character descriptions to be considered by a Hollywood casting director. The trilogy will premier in June at NFT.NY, in time for Coinbase’s launch of its NFT MarketPlace.
Animoca Brands Acquires Eden Games
Animoca Brands, creators of the Sandbox and the REVV token, has acquired the creators of Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed, Eden Games. “Eden Games will enhance and accelerate the development of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem and add powerful value to the REVV community and the racing metaverse,” says co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, Yat Siu.
Will Waves Make a Comeback?
The WAVES price plummeted from its recent all-time high of $63 to around $21. The sell-off sparked when Waves stablecoin, USDN, crashed to as low as $0.65, de-pegging from the dollar. Founder, Ukrainian-born Sacha Ivanov, took to Twitter and accused Alameda Research, a Sam Bankman-Fried backed cryptocurrency trading firm, of manipulating the price and shorting the asset. Bankman-Fried tweeted back and dismissed the claims as conspiracy. The WAVES rally started in late February, causing the price to surge from $8 to $63 – a whopping 700%. Currently, the USDN stablecoin is trying to regain its 1:1 ratio. Will Waves recover from this chaos and get back to its all time highs? Only time will tell.
